Remember, after night sky faded away, throughout days all dreaming that took place was only to pray this would never end. Only beginning was being aware that I was wide awake, and at least this time a voice could escape, it wouldn’t. It’s still impossible to see. There wouldn’t be any light coming through a roof, a ceiling couldn’t stand up without walls. All there is to see is walls. There’s a vague feeling that there is a road, it’s difficult to understand it. It would be easier if it glistened, eyes weren’t meant to hear. I don’t know if I’m looking back or forth. Backwards seems to be an only way I can recognize, but it’s not something to look at. As we all walk through piles of leaves on a curved path, it’s not one direction, everyone goes a different way. If this ground is a mirror it’s easier to get lost. If you listen closely you can here whispers screaming, and they echo, just to be heard twice. The road is like stars, as they collide, dust falls slowly, now it consumes me, and now I’m awake.

Sur Greyness of a Young Despondency, on sent encore que Damián Antón Ojeda est sur un début de carrière par le côté résolument franc de son black metal dépressif. Ce n'est pas tant la subtilité (et encore que : quand on écoute "Untitled III", il y a de quoi nuancer le propos...) qui est importante que l'authenticité de ce désespoir qui nous est craché à la gueule, encore plus sur "...And Hurting Colors" dont le but est de nous détruire émotionnellement. Un album aussi puissant que douloureux.

I've been slowing working my way through Sadness' discography and it's crazy how he makes "depressive" black metal sound so beautiful. It's like the frigidness of early Coldworld mixed with the dreamy and lighter parts of Alcest. This one is the best I've heard from this band so far.
